It's tragicomic that this is what we get from people whose ostensible goal is to "make America great again". This is instead a perfect way to make everyone think America is supremely stupid. It's like thinking that getting a facial tattoo of a cock and balls is going to make everyone think you're cool.
I can already see the dog and pony show briefings of design solutions that will never see the light of day. Someone will walk away richer and the people will see no benefit. I can’t believe this nation is that stupid.
> To update today's government to be an Apple Store like experience
Please, no. There are few things worse as a consumer than going to the Apple Store.
The overall design is…lacking. It’s fine for a regular website one might stumble upon. For a demo of America’s prowess in design it’s pretty bad and bland. The GIF loop (as mentioned by another commenter) is borked. The text goes to the edges of my screen. The italicized blurb towards the bottom has weird commas and capitalization. The copy just reads weird too.
18F walked so that we could, uh, regress back to crawling around on the floor babbling?
Well, I guess commenting what I really think about … this … would bring this dang moderation in here. I’d say it’s just mediocre. Yeah, maybe it fits the current thing very well.
The blunt Trump praise ("This is Trump going bigger than Nixon") is just the icing on the cake.
Is this really all that’s left of the United States, that were once built on big ideas and ideals? A nation of immigrants that distilled the best of all nations, now folding in on itself, a nation of freedom and equality now going after those with the wrong opinion, a nation of science now dictating research?
Pretty much the same as every other nation that slid from a functioning and proud society into fascism. Russia, Cuba, Italy, Iraq, you name it. Fascists take hold and destroy the nation's heritage. If the nation recovers, it's not until many generations into the future.
>What's the biggest brand in the world? If you said Trump, you're not wrong. But what's the foundation of that brand? One that's more globally recognized than practically anything else.
I genuinely and sincerely wish that America can get past this level of mediocre sycophantic Idiocracy. What a pathetic administration that only wants to hear good news for their bad work.

They destroyed 18F for this.

The gif doesn’t even loop continuously, there’s a jump between frames, perfect example of the attention to detail you get with American design

A digital version of Welthauptstadt Germania
Font used is... "PP Neue Montreal SemiBold"
Because nothing screams USA like a font named after a Canadian city.
Subtle rebellion by the developer?
I honestly can't believe this isn't satire.
This country is so fucked.
(And is this website ADA compliant?)
WebAIM's Wave can't even load it, so I'd say it probably isn't compliant.

If I had to make a list of global brands, Trump would not make it. I do not think about it as a brand. And when I hear the name I get a bad feeling.
Not just the administration: this comes from a former Airbnb cofounder. Just read how sycophantic he is:

"The USA stands for freedom, independence, and dreams."
LOL
More accurate would be “The USA stand for freedom and independence in its dreams.”
