Show HN: MockXP – AI that helps you prepare for interviews, not cheat them

Lately, I’ve noticed people using tools like Interview Copilot. These tools tell you what to say during a live interview. The AI listens and types an answer for you to repeat.

That seems wrong. If you get the job that way, what happens next? You can’t have AI feeding you answers in every meeting. Also, most interviewers can spot when someone is delivering rehearsed, robotic lines.

I understand why people turn to it. Interviews are stressful. You might freeze up, ramble or forget what you actually know. But AI should help improve your skills, not do the work for you.

That's why I created MockXP, an AI interview prep app. It allows you to practice unlimited mock interviews, receive instant feedback and track your progress until you sound confident and natural. It uses models that focus on real interview patterns, not generic Q&A bots.

Think of it like sparring before a big fight; you develop muscle memory instead of relying on a teleprompter.

I’m curious what HN thinks. Is using AI during interviews crossing a line, or is this the direction we’re heading?
